Discursief event over leegstandsbeheer/anti-kraak, broedplaatsenbeleid, ondersteuning voor initiatieven en tijdelijk en permanent gebruik van ruimte.

Voor een ieder die geïnteresseerd is in broedplaatsen, permanent en of tijdelijke alternatieve woonvormen, werkruimtes en gemeenschappelijke ruimtes, en hoe zich dit positioneert in de vastgoedwereld, in de gemeenschap en in relatie tot de veranderingen in het stedelijk landschap, beïnvloed door een neoliberaal model.

Vanuit welke visie praktiseren Roemte, Carex, Groninger Broedplaatsen Coalitie?
 Wat is hun geschiedenis, doel en werkwijze? Wat zijn hun posities, projecten en welke interesses vertegenwoordigen zij? 
 Hoe functioneren zij binnen dat (constant veranderende) politieke,maatschappelijke landschap, dat tegelijk binnen één homogeniserend economisch model opereert. Hoe gaan zij om met en hoe denken zij over de huidige wooncrisis, de crisis van (alternative) werkruimtes en gemeenschappelijke ruimtes. Want dat geeft hen ook vorm en bestaansreden.

‘Mijn ervaring ligt in het mede-oprichten en managen van organisaties en samenwerkingen die ik inzet als middel voor positieve verandering. Mijn focus ligt op:
Structurele oplossingen voor het tekort aan betaalbare woningen, gekoppeld aan het benutten van leegstaand vastgoed.
Verbetering van het wereldwijde inzicht in biodiversiteitsontwikkeling.
Herstel van gezonde zeeën die natuur en economie ondersteunen.
Het stimuleren van enthousiasme – vooral bij jongeren – voor natuur, cultuur en ecologisch/wetenschappelijk onderzoek.’

Roemte helpt ondernemende maatschappelijke initiatieven van de grond te komen, om huisvesting te vinden en om financiering rond te krijgen.
Karina is initiatiefnemer van verschillende culturele projecten in Groningen. Daarnaast ziet ze, als ervaringsdeskundige in het herbestemmen van (tijdelijke) leegstand, kansen voor in onbruik geraakte gebouwen en gebieden. Bij Roemte is ze mede-oprichter en begeleidt ze voornamelijk culturele projecten.

We pleiten voor een vaste minimale hoeveelheid vrije, open ruimte in Groningen, ruimte voor experimenteer-ruimtes. Wij zien permanente tijdelijkheid als een essentiële waarde in ons Groningse eco-systeem. Hiermee doelen we op structurele experimenteer-ruimte, met regelvrijheid, regelluwte en perspectief voor de makers en initiatiefnemers. Alleen zo spoelt de humuslaag niet weg en houden we deze rijk, voedzaam en kan iets nieuws tot bloei komen.

For anyone interested in incubators, permanent and/or temporary alternative housing, workspaces, and communal spaces, and how these position themselves in the real estate world, in the community, and in relation to the changes in the urban landscape influenced by a neoliberal model.

Meet the people behind the organizations.

What is the vision of Roemte, Carex, and the Groninger Incubator Coalition? What is their history, purpose, and working methods? What are their positions, projects, and what interests do they represent? How do they function within this (constantly changing) political and social landscape, which simultaneously operates within a single, homogenizing economic model? How do they cope with and think about the current housing crisis, the crisis of (alternative) workspaces and communal spaces…
Because that also gives them shape and reason to exist.

‘My experience lies in co-founding and managing organizations and partnerships that I use as a vehicle for positive change. My focus is on:
Structural solutions for the affordable housing shortage, coupled with the utilization of vacant real estate.
Improving global understanding of biodiversity development.
Restoring healthy seas that support nature and the economy.
Stimulating enthusiasm—especially among young people—for nature, culture, and ecological/scientific research.’

Karina Bakx (Roemte), https://roemtegroningen.nl/
Roemte helps entrepreneurial social initiatives get off the ground, find housing, and secure financing.
Karina is the initiator of various cultural projects in Groningen. As an expert in repurposing (temporary) vacant buildings, she also sees opportunities for disused buildings and areas. She is a co-founder of Roemte and primarily supervises cultural projects.

We advocate for a fixed minimum amount of free, open space in Groningen, space for experimental spaces. We see permanent temporaryity as an essential value in our Groningen ecosystem. By this, we mean structural space for experimentation, with freedom from regulations, minimal regulation, and perspective for creators and initiators. This is the only way to prevent the humus layer from being washed away, and to keep it rich and nutritious, allowing something new to flourish.
