REPORT Social Disruptions: Week III (23 to 30 April) by Ron & Marie-Jeanne

Thursday evening 23-4 dinner at community center Poorteshoes! Highly recommended cheap and good quality
Friday 24-4 Ron and Marie Jeanne went by bike to the spots were Enzy her performance will be. Check!
Moes came by with a lot of 2nd hand signs; compagnies always willing and approachable towards artsits so it seems
Saturday 25-4: Michelle came back from Greenland a tiny culture shock maybe? At least regarding the weather !
Everybody is working hard, preparing and materializing their ideas, thinking about attributes, props and facilities, clothing, costumes, scheduling make scenario’s, and dealing how to relate to restrictions, social circumstances, the weather, legal or safety matters.
Which is really different then working in an artspace or an art context, because you have stand in relation to the circumstances, conditions in public space where the people not expecting art. So for sure they will react different..

What disturbs it and what reveils it?

Tuesday 28/4 Michelle and Rover give their state of affairs and share their thoughts ideas and ask for the reflection
to the writers and the others etc. Discussions, conversations  in detail about the spots, places where it will happen.
Rover’s project takes place in Jipsinghuizen dealing about ‘boekweitvelden’ and historical references. Did a lot bycicling and research takes into account the visual aspects and specific spots.
Michelle will do a rather direct performances and her ideas are crystallizing; she is thinking about timing, route, movements, gestures and garments. In practical and contextual sense. She is going to shop this Saturday with Dinnis!

Overall:  The process and progress of this project proceeds organic. We can’t have a strict planning it is growing. And its strongly depends on the progress of the development of the artistst. It grows from scratch. Everone right now is in another phases, another stadium and ask different assistance or approach or reflection. Its fluctuating towards the place the social context, the material and that makes it interesting and complex for the artists themselves, team, writers.
The informal gatherings are super important and there a lot of interactions in advise and reflection towards eachother.

NEDERLANDS: Verslag Social Disruptions: Week III (23 t/m 30 April) door  Ron & Marie-Jeanne

Donderdag avond 23-4:  diner in het buurthuis van Poorteshoes! Een echte aanrader, goedkoop en van goede kwaliteit.
Vrijdag 24-4 Ron en MJ zijn met de fiets naar de plekken gegaan waar Enzy haar performance zal geven. Check!
-Moes kwam langs met een hoop tweedehands borden; bedrijven zijn altijd bereidwillig en benaderbaar voor kunstenaars, zo lijkt het.
Zaterdag 25-4 Michelle kwam terug uit Groenland, misschien een kleine cultuurschok? Tenminste wel wat het weer betreft.
Iedereen werkt hard, bereidt zich voor en werkt zijn ideeën uit, denkt na over attributen, rekwisieten en faciliteiten, kleding, kostuums, planning, scenario’s en hoe om te gaan met beperkingen, sociale omstandigheden, het weer, juridische of veiligheidskwesties.
Dat is echt anders dan werken in een kunstruimte of kunstcontext omdat je je moet aanpassen aan de omstandigheden in de openbare ruimte waar mensen geen kunst verwachten. Dus men zal zeker een andere reactie hebben.

Wat verstoort het en wat onthult het werk?

Dinsdag 28 april: Michelle en Rover geven een update over hun project, delen hun gedachten en ideeën en vragen om reflectie aan de schrijvers en anderen. Er wordt uitgebreid gesproken over de locaties en plekken waar het zal plaatsvinden.
Rovers project vindt plaats in Jipsinghuisen en draait om boekweitvelden en historische referenties. Hij heeft veel gefietst en onderzoek gedaan, waarbij hij rekening houdt met de visuele aspecten en specifieke locaties.

Michelle zal een vrij directe performance geven en haar idee kristalliseert zich uit, waarbij ze nadenkt over timing, route, bewegingen, gebaren en kleding. Praktische en contextuele aspecten spelen hierbij een rol.
Zaterdag gaat ze shoppen met Dinnis!

Donderdag 30 april: weer een bijeenkomst met een update van Enzy & Anna.
Later een diner op het schip ms. Primus, verzorgd door Klaas.

Samenvattend: het proces en de voortgang van dit project verlopen organisch. We kunnen geen strikte planning hebben, het groeit. En het hangt sterk af van de ontwikkeling van de kunstenaars. In aanvang is er nog niets, behalve mogelijkheden. Iedereen bevindt zich momenteel in een andere fase, een ander stadium en vraagt ​​om andere hulp, benaderingen of reflectie. Het fluctueert met de plek, de sociale context, het materiaal, en dat maakt het interessant en complex voor de kunstenaars zelf, het team en de schrijvers.De informele bijeenkomsten zijn bijzonder  belangrijk;  en er is veel interactie, advies en reflectie over en weer.
