Verslag SOCIAL DISRUPTIONS week 1  (7 april t/m 15 april 2026) door Ron & MJ (English version  below).
7 april aankomst  /start project
Week stond in het teken van kennismaken, veel lunchen, uitwisselen, installeren, verblijf, verkenningen , research  en ontwikkeling van de eerste  ideeën van kunstenaars Michelle Rasmussen, Enzy Jhang, Marouschka Brian, Rover Indigo Bertels, Anna Musikhina,  Beatrice Guidi


8 april was de eerste pop up interventie in de vorm van zeemansuitvaart van een lijster.

Zo was er 8-4 kennismaking met PR team Arlo van Lierop, kunstenaars & videografen en fotografen Hector Garcia Martin, Shuhan Liu, Vanesa Miteva die de kunstenaars gaan assisteren met het goed in beeld brengen van de interventies en alles wat daarmee in verband staat. Dat zal voornamelijk in de periode 10 t/m 23 mei plaatsvinden.

Donderdag 9-4 was de fietstocht  samengesteld door Fiona van den Bergh. Met alle kunstenaars, schrijvers; Dinnis van Dijken, Aura Baltrušaitytė, Neja Kaiser, en de assistenten; Siem de Boer, Dari Bee, Matviy Caix.
Er was een heerlijke lunch verzorgd door Matviy en Dari met brood uit Pieterburen van Beatrice.
Plekken die werden aangedaan tijdens de fietstocht hadden een rol in de recente geschiedenis van Groningen. De activiteiten aldaar hebben hun effect gehad dat zich nog steeds doet gelden. Met name werd het belang van rebelse, eigenwijze invloeden van allerlei groepen en personen toegelicht.
Wat zijn de activiteiten geweest en de gevolgen daarvan voor de stad, hoe heeft dat een plek gekregen en wat was de invloed op het uiterlijk en de sociale ontwikkelingen van een stad? Zo hadden jeugdcultuur en muziekstromingen enorme invloed. Huisvesting van communities en het museum. Er kwam voorbij ; Amerikaanse rock &  roll (Indo’s), nozems, tearoom Indië gerund door gay community, jazz & provo’s, hippies, feministen, punk, het ging over kraken in combinatie met culturele poot daarvan, z-side hooligans met onderbuik acties tegenover punks botsingen met studenten working class, boeren,  alles had zo z`n invloed  op sociale processen in stad maar ook op stadsplanning en architectuur. Ook het Groninger Museum is ontstaan vanuit de rebelse invloed van Frans Haks.

Afgesproken werd dat er regelmatig meetings zullen waar telkens de voortgang van 2 kunstenaars wordt besproken
Eerste updates ideeën en experimenten van de kunstenaars kwamen 14/15 april binnen op de GD.
Woensdag 15 april kwam het schrijversteam voor de eerste keer samen om hun plan uit te werken, en wat voor benadering ze zullen hanteren. Dinnis van dijken doet de coördinatie hiervan. Er werd gedineerd in de Olijfboom, veel lunches  en pizza bij Gabbiano. En een onderzoek van de schatten in het Schimmelpenninck hotel.

REPORT SOCIAL DISTRUPTIONS week 1 (April 7 to April 15, 2026) by Ron & MJ

April 7 arrival / project start
The week was dedicated to getting acquainted, lots of lunches, indirectly, installing, stay, explorations, research and development of the first ideas by artists Michelle Rasmussen, Enzy Jhang, Marouschka Brian, Rover Indigo Bertels, Anna Musikhina, Beatrice Guidi
April 8 was the first pop-up intervention in the form of a sailor’s funeral for a thrush
Also, on April 8-4, there was an introduction to PR team Arlo van Lierop, artists & videographers and photographers Hector Garcia Martin, Shuhan Liu, Vanesa Miteva who will assist the artists in visually capturing the interventions and everything related to them. This will mainly take place in the period from May 10 to May 23.

On Thursday, April 9, the bike tour was organized by Fiona van den Bergh. With all the artists and writers: Dinnis van Dijken, Aura Baltrušaitytė, Neja Kaiser, and the assistants: Siem de Boer, Dari Bee, and Matviy Caix.
A delicious lunch was provided by Matviy and Dari, featuring bread from Pieterburen by Beatrice.
The places visited during the bike tour played a role in the recent history of Groningen. The activities there have had an impact that they still do not deserve. The importance of rebellious, headstrong influences from various groups and individuals was explained.

What were the activities and the consequences for the city, how did a place acquire its place, and what was the influence on the appearance and social development of a city? For instance, youth culture and musical movements had an enormous influence. Housing for communities and the museum were also discussed. Topics covered included: American rock & roll (Indos), greasers, the Indies tearoom run by the gay community, jazz & provos, hippies, feminists, punk; it was a lot about squatting combined with the cultural side of things, graffiti, Z-Side hooligans with impulsive actions against punks, students against the working class youth, farmers; everything had its influence on social processes in the city, but also on urban planning and architecture.
The Groninger Museum also originated from the rebellious influence of Frans Haks.
There was dining at De Olijfboom, frequent lunches and pizza at Gabbiano. + Exploring the treasures of the Schimmelpenninck hotel!

It was agreed that there would be regular meetings where the progress of two artists would be discussed each time.
The first updates on the artists’ ideas and experiments arrived at the GD on April 14/15.
On Wednesday, April 15, the writing team met for the first time to work out their plan and the approach they would take. Dinnis van Dijken does the coordination.

Thursday April 16 a small boat trip through the city in ms PRIMUS with Moes & Enzy.
