Over ‘I Am Grateful(?!)’:
Stel je een ruimte voor waar de tijd stilstaat – niet voor minuten, maar voor maanden of jaren. Een ruimte waar verhalen onverteld blijven en waar wachten een manier van leven wordt.
I am Grateful (?!) is een installatie die is ontstaan uit deze geleefde ervaringen als vluchteling of asielzoeker in Nederland. Ontwikkeld in nauwe samenwerking, brengt het miniatuurwerelden, verzamelde getuigenissen en diep persoonlijke fragmenten van het leven in transit samen. Het is een groeiende installatie die zich uitbreid door gemeenschappelijk inbreng.
Met bijdrages van Dona Saroor, Wafa Al-Attas, Hadi Zadeh, Buthina Osama, Hadir, Osman mjd, Ibtehal Al-dholay, Samira, MOHA (Alice Pons & Olivia Reschofsky), Yara Alsaleh en vele deelnemers met ervaringsdeskundigheid in AZC’s in heel Nederland, wier stemmen en perspectieven dit werk diepgaand hebben gevormd.

About ‘I am grateful (?!)’:
Imagine a space where time stands still—not for minutes, but for months or years. A space where stories remain untold and where waiting becomes a way of life.
‘I am grateful (?!)’ is an installation born from these lived experiences as a refugee and asylum seeker in the Netherlands. Developed through close collaboration, it brings together miniature worlds, collected testimonies, and deeply personal fragments of life in transit. It is an underground installation that expands through collective input.
With contributions from Dona Saroor, Wafa Al-Attas, Hadi Zadeh, Buthina Osama, Hadir, Osman mjd, Ibtehal Al-dholay, Samira, MOHA (Alice Pons & Olivia Reschofsky), Yara Alsaleh, and many participants with lived experience from asylum centers across the Netherlands, whose voices and perspectives have shaped this work.
SIGN organiseert regelmatig raamexposities die een directe impact hebben op de omgeving; ze worden veelvuldig gezien door voorbijgangers, het verkeer en de buurt. Bij de raamexpositie zijn de werken voortdurend zichtbaar vanaf de straatkant; – zowel overdag als ‘s avonds en ‘s nachts.
Tijdens de raamexpositie is SIGN gesloten vanwege het zomerreces. 😎
SIGN regularly organizes window exhibitions that have a direct impact on the surrounding area; they are seen by passersby, traffic, and the neighborhood. The artworks in the window exhibition are constantly visible from the street—during the day as well as in the evening and at night. During the window exhibition, SIGN is closed for the summer break 😎
