Alternative Archives & Subjective Atlas of Groningen

Are you curious about subcultures from Groningen’s past? You are invited to come and peek into different alternative archives of Groningen!
There will be:
-Provo zines called ‘Scandal’ from the 1960
-Political posters from different movements.
-Zines from the 80s and 90s.
-Loads of pictures of graffiti, made by punks, hiphopheads and Z-side hooligans.

All of these from Groningen!
Visitors are invited to browse, dig, and discover stories tucked away in these unconventional collections. Experience the joy of rummaging through these old zines, pictures, and posters. There will be a copy machine, so you can make collages of your favourite fragments!

Alongside the alternative archives, we also present an alternative atlas, the Subjective Atlas of Groningen, a project still in the making. In this atlas, the province of Groningen is shown by its inhabitants, the narrative about the place told by diverse groups of people. Come and explore the early versions of this evolving atlas!

Alternatieve Archieven & Subjectieve Atlas van Groningen

Ben je nieuwsgierig naar subculturen uit het verleden van Groningen? Kom dan een kijkje nemen in verschillende alternatieve archieven van Groningen!
Er zijn onder andere:
-Provo-zines genaamd ‘Scandal’ uit de jaren 60.
-Politieke posters van verschillende bewegingen.
-Zines uit de jaren 80 en 90,
-Talloze foto’s van graffiti, gemaakt door punks, hiphopheads en Z-side hooligans.

Allemaal uit Groningen!

Bezoekers worden uitgenodigd om te snuffelen, te zoeken en verhalen te ontdekken die verborgen liggen in deze onconventionele collecties. Beleef het plezier van het doorzoeken van deze oude zines, foto’s en posters. Er is een kopieermachine aanwezig, zodat je collages kunt maken van je favoriete fragmenten!
Naast de alternatieve archieven presenteren we ook een alternatieve atlas, de Subjectieve Atlas van Groningen, een project dat nog in ontwikkeling is. In deze atlas wordt de provincie Groningen getoond door de ogen van haar inwoners; het verhaal over de plek wordt verteld door diverse groepen mensen. Kom en ontdek de vroege versies van deze steeds evoluerende atlas!
