Maarten Vanden Eynde (1977, BE/NL) houdt zich bezig met de mysteries van ons toekomstig verleden en onderzoekt de levensvatbaarheid van Genetologie,
een zelf uitgevonden 'wetenschap der eerste dingen'.
In Sign zal voor het eerst een volledig deel van Vanden Eynde's Genetologisch onderzoek te zien zijn: de categorie Archeologie.
Welke puzzelstukken zijn nodig om het heden in de toekomst te herscheppen? Hoe beschrijf of herschrijf je geschiedenis? (www.genetology.net)
Tevens wordt speciaal voor de tentoonstelling "Archaeology of Genetology" gepresenteerd het eerste katern van een groot boekwerk over Genetologie. (vormgever: Raf Vancampenhoudt).

Sign will host the first exhibition of a section of Vanden Eynde's Genetologic Research: the category Archaeology.

Meike Eggers (1973 Dld.): "Pyjamocracy - a glimmer of you ", focust op amateur footage, en toont de sporen en gevolgen van helden, heersers, iconen en idealen.
De installatie combineert een verzameling van historische en hedendaagse amateurfilms en -video's geprojecteerd in één ruimte.
Pyjamocracy beschrijft niet alleen de huidige democratisering van beelden en media maar ook het einde van de voormalig eendimensionale en schijnbare betekenisvolle realiteit. (www.meikeeggers.eu)
Meike Eggers (1973 Dld.): "Pyjamocracy - a glimmer of you", focuses on amateur footage depicting the traces and effects of heroes, rulers, ideals and icons.
The installation combines a collection of historical and contemporary amateur films and videos projected on the walls of a room.
Pyjamacracy describes not only the current democratisation of images and media, but also the end of a former one-dimensional and apparently meaningful reality. (www.meikeeggers.eu)
"The Protoganist" van Michael Anhalt (1976, Dld.) refereert naar de politieke situatie in de DDR en zijn "panoptische" systeem van macht, toezicht en controle.
"The Protoganist" stelt vragen bij fotografie en haar gebruik als middel voor bewijsvoering en herinnering in relatie tot de maker.
Het toont het persoonlijke conflict tussen het bestaan als bewoner en als bewaker. Het werk combineert voormalig geheime opnamen gemaakt door de STASI,
persoonlijke en cinematografische ' found footage' en een persoonlijk familie-fotoarchief uit de DDR. (www.weyong.com).
"The Protagonist" from Michael Anhalt (1976, Dld.) refers to the political situation in the German Democratic Republic and its panoptical system of power, surveillance and control.
The work questions photographs and its usage as evidence and remembrance in relation to the author. It displays a persons' conflict being the inmate and warder.
The work combines former secret images made by the STASI, personal and cinematic found footage, off the record, and a personal family photographic archive from the from the GDR. (www.weyong.com)
