FIN Jaime Ibanez

Sign presenteert

Jaime Ibanez
“FIN”
Cinematic Theatre

Jaime Ibanez integrates cinema, ‘primitive’ animation, performance, installation and theatre. Apart from ‘cinema’ FIN therefore is a show with a strong visual character.
The cinema serves as a theatre platform. The centre is a projection on a big, transparant roll of paper. In this setting Jaime Ibanez puts drawn or painted characters and landscapes for his archetypical creation stories. He is not only the narrator but will as the performer get the thing rolling and keep rolling. He (literally) pulls the strings and at the same time is director, actor, roadie, light and sound technician, stage- manager etc. The construction is almost a physical extension of the artist in which several analogue mechanisms are moved manually. Sounds from the installation itself accompany the absurd stories. The soundtrack is made audible through self made ‘boxheadphones’. FIN has an open structure: all layers, including Jaime in several roles, are visible and form together the show.
