Uit de digitale overvloed van mogelijkheden schept iedere kunstenaars zijn eigen orde waarbij een kruisbestuiving plaatsvindt tussen realiteit en de virtuele werkelijkheid.
Danja Vasilievs (1978, St. Petersburg Rusland) installatie “Poweronoff online” bestaat uit een opstelling van huishoudelijke apparaten die van hun energievoorziening afhankelijk zijn van internetgebruik. Het aantal hits per tijdseenheid bepaalt het aantal apparaten dat in werking wordt gezet en de duur van hun arbeid. Vasiliev studeert aan het Piet Zwart Institute 2e fase, Rotterdam.
Floris Kaayk (1982, Tiel)( “Metalosis Maligna, The Order Electrus” ) maakt ‘fictieve realistische voorlichtingfilms’ die een combinatie zijn van computer gegenereerde beelden met live-action video. Constructies van mechanische/technische onderdelen en restanten komen tot leven en krijgen een geintegreerde plaats in de realiteit van het dagelijke leven. Kaayk studeert aan het Sandberg Instituut 2e fase Amsterdam
Guido Bertling (1977, Rheine Duitsland) toont een 3-d webconstructie van een non-liniaire film bestaande uit lijnen en bolletjes. Elke balletje, een RFID transponder, vertegenwoordigt een filmfragment en een fase in de geschiedenis van het heelal maar ook in de grootte orde ervan, uitgaande van de oerknal naar de menselijke geschiedenis. Via een handcomputer kan men zich door het netwerk begeven en de fragmenten zien. Bertling is in 2006 afgestudeerd aan AKI Enschede
Karl Klomp (1979, NL)
is gefascineerd door de niet traditionele uitkomsten van fouten bij video apparatuur oftewel ‘glitch’. In zijn live performance E.A.B. (opening 10 maart 17.00 uur) wordt door lichaamscontact het beeld beinvloed met een organisch bewegend gradient. Het ter plekke gecreeerde beeld bij deze glitchvisuals komt uit een verouderde, door hem gemodificeerde videoprocessor. Wanneer het hem esthetisch aanspreekt wordt het uitgeprint. www.glitchism.org

The installation “Poweroff online” of Danja Vasiliev consists of an arrangement of domestic appliances which are depending on the use internet through a computer for their electrical feed. The number of hits per unit of time, generated by the user, decides the number of appliances that will work and the time they will be in action.
Floris Kaayk makes ‘fictitious realistic instruction movies’, which are a mix of computer generated images and live-action video. Constructions of mechanical/technical parts and remains come to life and get an integrated part in the reality of daily life.
Guido Bertling shows a 3D webconstruction of a non-linear film consisting of lines and balls. Each ball, a RFID transponder, represents a phase in the history of the universe from the big-bang to human history but also the bigger order of time. By means of a hand-held computer one can move through the network and see clips.
Karl Klomp is fascinated by the non-traditional outcome of mistakes of video equipment, also know as ‘glitch’. In his live performance E.A.B. (opening 10th of March, 17.00 hrs) the image is influenced with an organic moving gradient by physical contact. On the spot created images in these glitch-visuals are produced by outdated and by Klomp modified
videoprocessors. When it satisfies him aesthetically, he prints the outcome. www.glitchism.org

A living environment powered up by advertising networks. Each banner that comes along with webpages you navigate to gives you a few bits of electricity, enabling one by one the appliances presented all around. First you get a light, then music comes, a fan and a TV – to cool down and enjoy…
But there isn’t really time for relaxing – you have to work, go to more and more sites, try to load as many banners as you can find – because this is what’s keeping the place “alive”.
Being hugged to the same wireless network the laptop and the “head computer” are working together. You use the first one to browse to your favorite websites while the second one uses the TPC/IP traffic you just made, sniffing and looking for any kind of commercials slipping through the network. Each banner “generates” few Watts of electricity which are counted, added and immediately consumed by your home appliances. More you browse – more score you get, longer the space remains powered.
