24 hour LAN-party People
The Institution of Contemporary Culture
24 hour LAN-Party People borduurt voort op het LAN-Party idee en overtreft deze.
In tegenstelling tot een reguliere LAN-Party wordt er niet gegamed maar worden er fulltime beelden gemaakt.
The Institution of Contemporary Culture bestaat uit gedeelte waar de productie plaatsvindt met met computers en werkplek, en een presentatie gedeelte.
Bij de productie worden de ontworpen beelden omgezet in kunstwerken, die vervolgens worden gepresenteerd in de aansluitende presentatie ruimte met de mogelijkheid tot kopen.
Door hun smaak kenbaar te maken kan het publiek direct invloed uitoefenen op het proces. Hun mening wordt terug gekoppeld naar de productie, waar het de beeldenstroom zal beïnvloeden en, vervolgens, de aard van de kunstwerken in dit constante proces.
Zelf zeggen de XIII:
“Wat beweegt de hedendaagse cultuur en waarom zijn de kunsten een blok aan het been voor op z’n minst de Nederlandse politici? Misschien heeft iedereen het gewoon gehad van de high-culture-smaak met zijn “art-bubble”, of is er nog steeds iets van een werkelijke waarde over in de kunst?
“sommige parels, verborgen in de diepte van de oceaan, omsloten door grotesk-zwarte spelonken”.
U bent welkom bij het zelfvoorzienend Institution of Contemporary Culture. Waar kunst niet alleen een last is voor zelfbenoemde leiders van een vrije wereld, een sociaal speelgoed voor het intellectuele ego of een excuus voor een kunstenaarsleven.
